I think because they are better or more reliable.. I've had a couple with no problems

I was making the point that no one mention that they used them. Not expecting to hear that they fail. I would think for for those high powered builds, one would use the 'better' items.

Peace

Ok. but the title of the thread is "Failure on Competition Flywheel" and you wrote you didn't see anything about the Fidanza.

Thanks for your response, Dominic. Any update on this?

Also, I am glad that CC stepped up to the plate and made their customer happy but this thread should stay open as a reference tool. There is no such thing as a perfect product and the fact that Dominic was accountable and present in this thread is good publicity as far as I'm concerned.

I am also curious as to whether or not CC thinks that the product could be improved and whether or not they are taking steps to do so.

Crap!

Sorry I missed the questions asking for updates.

We did end up adding some material to the thickness of the ring gear to help out on higher compression starts.

I'm sorry it took so long to clear this up, I am actually in engineering now and didn't have access to the tech email account that the thread was subscribed too!

Failure on Competition flywheel
Can only assume my email prompted this response, but I received one of these yesterday from a UK vendor, I can only assume mine is the old design as its incredibly thin in the areas where the above failure has occurred.

I didn't want to risk using this on my high compression build so it is being returned tomorrow, if I could get an updated design version that would be great..

Sam,
Get the a measurement of the thickness of the ring gear and email it over to Clifton whom you had emailed earlier. From there he can see which version you have and work on getting you fixed up!

Dominic

Edit: If anyone is needing this and has specific questions, please please please shoot us an email/phone call/postcard/carrier pigeon. We can help fix what we do not know about. Sometimes we get lucky and can come across things in the forums on our own time but its rather rare.

I'm happy to see you were taken care of in this instance.

While I'd prefer you not edit-out your posts in this thread, I won't stop you. However, I won't delete the thread either. I hope you understand.
