vet pencil coils that are stock det ecu compatible?
Do any of the gsxr or cbr type coils work with a stock det ecu. Basically, I want to keep the stock p11 cover and run a stock det ecu setup with it ...is this feasible? If it can be done cool, if not I already know my other options. I know most run ems that go vet with pencils.

Are you talking about a rwd det ecu that has individual coils from the factory?

If so as long as you use them with an ignitor yes they will work. However those coils are not near as strong as the DET coils are as they are meant to work with a CDI box. Ben tried this on his car and it gave him big headaches.

If you run VET coils you can run them on the stock rwd det ecu but you have to get rid of the ignitor as the VET coils are smart coils. You would run the signal wires to their respective coil and then yes, it will work just fine.

I have a p12 cover but I'd rather keep it with my p12 head. The p11 is goin in a truck with a arp and total seal bottom end. I plan on running stock boost till I can afford an ems.
The ecu will be a stock rwd det 62 ecu. Are we talking big headaches when running higher boost or just in general? I'll be running a neo or vafc to keep the Afr's in check with a wideband.

Btw been sometime since I've been on, I'm also on the fb group just posted a pic of the d21

Any boost. Ben couldnt get it to stop blowing out spark with anything more than 4psi from a t28. lol. They are meant to be ran with a CDI box. Either use a smart coil as I said or get a cdi box and go that route.

What cdi box would you recommend for what I'm trying to do

Bang for the buck and stock ecu compatible of course.

If your not wanting to spend a lot of cash, you can get the newer AEM Twinfire Box which is what im running with my gsxr1000 coils or if you want no worries with reliability of it get an m&w box.

What are the hp goals? You really dont need individual coils unless your going over 550whp or so. I ran my stock ignition right up to 550whp without a problem.

Well I'm rwd with the p11 head goin on the det in the truck so that's the issue, I'll have to check those cdi boxes though. I didn't have all this to worry about on my s14 because the p12 head, cover and coils.

I have some spare VET/20V coils if you want to run another set of those.
