Worth experimenting with intake lengths?
Is it worth experimenting with lengths for a SR20VE w/ 4-1 header,n1 cams, xcessive n1 manifold with stacks, q45 TB and a45 AFM etc?

You hear a lot of hearsay about things like this(as well as others reading) but i thought i'd check to see if anyone has found a "sweet" spot so to say, i was thinking of making up 3 pipes and just dynoing with each one, 15inch, 20inch, 24inch from the TB to the AFM.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I remember reading that 6-8" is ideal so I would like to see that included.

Ignoring pipe flow characteristics isn't this just a question of how quickly the ecu can process information in relation to how quickly the air travels from the meter to the cylinders?

I can do that with the left over pipe I will have, definitely.

It will be 3.5 aluminum alloy piping, it comes in 600MM lengths.

I'll probably just get a small filter for the rocker, block the IACV and just test the pipes individually so i don't have to put IACV/breathe bungs into the pipe.

Definitely worth looking into. I know from what I have found the longer the piping is the better it held power. .. I haven't put a whole lot of effort into really trying to lengthen it past the headlight.

Straightness and length never have a perfect solution , they are too close to firewall...
At the moment im experimenting on a straight runner with slight smaller internal size than on the head's intake port, and joint with plenum with velocity stack .. trying to get higher intake velocity for better filling effect and mixture of fuel/gas..
So far i've only done high velocity mod on the intake port, result is promising ! massive increase in midrange torque , but feel flat on top end ... trying to improve my idea with velocity mod on intake runner instead of intake port
