Good call on the drivetrain loss, forgot about that. I think a more realistic goal would be 180?

So N/A RWD DE block + SR16VE pistons. Any limitations on cams or we good to go for anything? I've already figured that we'll need to run something like E85 with the high compression. A couple stations in this area and quite a few in Colorado where the car will also see some track time.

No issues with cams if you are running 16VE pistons. You could use any VE cam that is currently out there.

I would do a 88mm build with cp 12:5.1 pistons and manley h beams. That would be fairly inexpensive and would allow you to add displacement with out aftermarket sleeves.

You may have to do more work than the 200whp fwd ve's to get your 200whp

Yeah we already went over that, since the RWD configuration has a greater loss. I think we'd be happy with 180-ish.

yep cp makes ve 88mm pistons that are 12:5.1. They are notched from cp and do not need to be custom ordered.

they retail for 540-595 shipped for a set of 4 depending on where you order from.

Another quick question: Are there any main differences between a RWD DET and standard DE block that makes one better for this application than the other?

iirc they are the same except the coolant fittings on the block and the piston coolers.
