Thread: Maxima CAS

I'm just trying to determine if this is worth me exploring for my p11 head, but i'm running Nismotronic and i'm certain I will need to be able to adjust the CAS for setting base timing..

Is it the spacer that limits your ability to adjust the CAS? Is there a way to make the spacer so that it at least gives you a few degrees of adjustment between 15-18 degrees?

In all honestly. If I have to go to the cnc again it wont be worth it going this route... unless you already have a cas laying around and you have time to machine it yourself then yes its worth it... a 20V cas that needs no mods is $300.

Besides the spacer , and flipping the cog.... was anything else done?

I can get the spacers made for you guys if you need me to. It's not as expensive as you think but i will need a few ordered to make it worth while.

to do mechanical timing... put a spark plug wire on the end of the COP running to cylinder 1, drop the plug wire on the spark plug and hook up your timing light as you would normal do... cake.

use the vg30 and cut off the ear and have it TIG'd where you need it

gotta think beyond the box to keep it cheap :thumbsup:

Do not forget to install an aftermarket CAS cover.
It is the most crucial component.

They are marketed for RWD SR's, but since the Hitachi caps are universal, they fit the P12/X-trail CAS as well.

A company named GKTech makes the clear one:

Sometimes random no-name clear ones can also be found on Ebay. There are also various aluminum and carbon fiber ones made by other companies.

Man I'm calling them on Monday.... Need to find out some info first before I cop this piece.... Do u know if the heat will make it change color?
