ok, well just finished a race the other weekend, got second in class. new adaptor makes a huge difference, even with out tunning up top it feels so strong now. n1 and re tune will happen soon. also play with cam switch point , as now they both switch at 5000rpm. but yeah i can feel a huge difference in top end power. low end power dropped off a bit. but tunning should even that out.

car is at the dyno now should have some numbers mid next week. on another note i had no valve clearance on number 1. might explain why when i did a compression test number 1 was 40psi lower then the rest. lets hope i get close to the 200whp mark

This whole thread is a good read mate, congrats on the hard work and effort gone into this there is a guy on the AOC that has built something similar to this and that looks great too

once i achieve 200whp with out going inside ie bolt ons then i will be going inside with rods pistons compression around 13:1 bigger cams etc and spin it to 9000rpm and aim for the 240whp mark. once i achieve that then im happy as that is more more the the vq35's are making in my class well close enough but i only weigh 800kgs with half tank fuel no driver. and im a single seater. im currently running similar times to some turbo cars and often beat them. so that is a nice thing. but i need it to be reliable as well. hence why the 9000 limit. as it a race car. not a daily. i once held 8000rpm for 12km's as in my sport you must finish and that is the hardest part..

ok new dyno sheet red line is after the new adaptor and blue is before. you can see a heap smoother. and some rpm points i picked up 25hp. over all 10hp gain and about 30ft/lb or torque. which is good. yet to race on it. but big gains in low rpm. which is nice. remeber this engine is spinning 31" mud tyres. engine has approx 110,000ks before i put it into race car over 18months ago. so probly getting tired now. internal mods are still stock engine just bolt on's on a high comp fresh engine it would be good numbers

well the time has come to get some cams.

want to know what people think. dont want n1's at the end of the day they still a stock cam.

the head will be coming off. and going high comp with cp pistons 12.5:1 and manley rods i all ready have new oil pump and timing gear, and bc dual springs and retainers. so i going to need cams. my aim is 240hp at wheels. this is a race motor. that gets driven hard all the time.

was thinking these cams 184-C Racing Camshaft Set

want to know what peoples thoughts arre?
