Nah, for those of us who don't want a loud ass exhaust, it's perfectly fine. I have seen a few VE's over the 200whp mark with a 2.5" exhaust WITH the stock cat in one of them.

The stock cat. Is fine. I have seen a 10whp difference and with a good muffler you will not have a loud ass exhaust! I done know why you think it will make that much difference in sound.

would rather spend the $1000 it will cost for a good 3" exhaust system on a set of n1 cams and valvesprings.

Because EVERY 3" setup I have heard has been too loud for my taste, and they were all a hell of alot louder than mine. I don't know why you think it WONT make much of a difference in sound.........

My 3" is pritty good off hi cam, Reson being i have a massive resonator 6"x 24" that affects ground clerance somewhat!

I would like to try a 5" x28" long resonator and see how that goes in the future when the 6" has no bottom left in it (it's not that bad but just always a concern)

^ Point made. You havent heard a 3 inch. What makes you thing you can have a 2.5 in quiet and a 3in too loud? Its all the same a good resonator kills sound. I have seen 4 and 5 inch exhaust that werent bad.

You and I could argue this all day. What is too loud to one person, could be fine to another. It's all down to an opinion

Yeah I agree. Some people dont like their car to be much louder than stock. So I will agree with your last statement. HAHA. What kind of power is your VE making?

I'm not sure actually, I havent taken it to the dyno. PR CAI with pop on end, SSAC 2.5" for now, stock 250,000 mile cat, 2.5"vrs with ws2 muff, UR crank and w/p pullies, Outlaw spacers, bored de tb from old motor, calum daughterboard with 16ve cam program, and just recently swapped the 16ve cams out for N1's.
