Had my sr20ve tuned
Hi all,

My sr20ve has the following engine mods
sr20ve
greddy mss (set to 5000/5000 cam switch points)
xforce 4>2>1 headers
2.5" exhaust to the rear section, where its necked to 2.25"
pod filter
bosch platinum plugs (bkr6e equivalent)
nistune realtime daughterboard in an sr20de ecu

Heres the torque vs power

and the afr vs power

rev limiter is set to only 7500 as apparently intermittently the car hits some sort of limiter.
tuner thinks it might be the CAS not able to keep up, but i think it may be the old distributor/leads i'm using (from my old 200,000km sr20de).
i'd really like to get to 8000rpm, helps at the drag strip to keep it on the boil.

note this is a hub dyno, which is probably why the torque graph looks strange at low rpm.

thoughts (particularly on the high rpm issue) appreciated.

I think the 2.25" exhaust is the reason for that dip in torque between 3-5000. If it was 2.5" straight through I think it'd flatten out alot more.

i agree, depending on the future mods maybe even a 2.75 exhaust mgiht be in the works

go for a 3 inch exhaust, its been dyno proven that ve's love 3'' exhaust systems.

stratton.

cant afford to go 3", and noise is a concern over here.
will change out the rear section to make it 2.5" all the way through, and maybe get new leads and a crane coil to help boost spark.

^If you run a 3" magnaflow high flow cat and a 3" long style magnaflow resonator (about 14-21 inches) it shouldn't be that loud with 3". What is your budget on the exhaust system? I would just run 2.5" from the flexpipe/secondary back and you should be fine.

dont really have a budget, just dont want to re-do the whole lot.
Will just be doing the rear section to make it 2.5" all the way through

2.5 is a waste of time. That is like trying to run a marathon with a cork stuck up your nose holes.
