Throttle cable snapped!
UGH. More bad luck in the VE. I was just driving it to pick up a friend and noticed that the gas pedal felt looser than normal or something.. it was just not right. So on a 2 lane road, a large semi had stopped in the right lane w/ flashers on, so to avoid it and get around traffic coming up in the left lane I had to really step on it in 2nd gear at WOT, then the car stopped moving and the gas pedal was useless. Put on the flashers. I knew immediately what it was, the throttle cable. Popped the hood and it was all messed up. It looks like it broke at the firewall.

This happen to anyone else?

Happened to a friend, I told him you don't need to put all your body weight on the pedal to get to WOT and then this happened about a month later

I only had it happen once in my old classic. I figured it was from the car sitting forever and then getting extra stress from the ITB's on the GTI-R motor. I went with an OEM cable and the car never had a problem again.

Buy a b15 throttle cable. It's shorter than the b13/14 and route it underneath the IM. Will look clean.

lol if your snapping throttle cables then something is seriously wrong. Ive never had one break ever. You might need to clean your throttle body or something or you have it at a weird angle causing problems or making it to where its requiring more pedal effort to open.

The gas pedal DID feel sort of hard to depress on occasion once in awhile.. harder than the rest of the SR20's I've driven at least. I'll take pics of it then maybe u can see what u think

Ok so I fixed it, kind of had to rig it using the same cable. So it didnt actually snap, just something came loose or something.

Car runs fine now.... except..

Now the speedometer stopped working. WTF? Anyone?
