No it isn't, my one is the modified b18 big tube tri-y done by dale, D_turbo's one is a custom built tri-y made by the same guy who modded mine.

Tested a 32" long primary vs a 21" to the end of the collector and made 10whp more with the shorter 4-1.

Theory can only go so far. Especially with the cams used, rod length etc of the SR.

Longer header made more midrange but the short 4-1 dominated above 7K.

Rod length and cams have nothing to do with primary length's affect on power, but you won't believe me just like everyone else on any forum I try posting on. Prob a good idea if we leave the discussion out of this thread, I don't really feel like arguing anymore anyway haha. But thanks for your info I do appreciate it. And good to know your shorter lengths made more power.I'll keep watching this thread, good discussion.

Were the diameters the same between the two tested? Primary, and collector completely the same?

No one said it had to do with primary length. What I was reffering to was how and where these motors make the power.

You are right, we should save this for another discussion. There are certain things not worth arguing about on this forum.



Same diameter. Would be an invalid test if they were different.

Grab some info on the early BTCC 54C's then let's have a discussion.

Grab the cam data, bore/stroke, header length and intake length.

They we're very long on that given motor for a reason.

You can contact IES and get all that information

Pito tested his big tube tri y vs another big tube tri y converted to 4-1 with this:

No significant gains on the 2.0L but he had to change the switchover of the cams to 5800 instead of 5200.. He still made 228 @ 158

Is the megaphone outlet 2.5" or the choke?
