my greddy mss does this too

Only thing thing is, the MSS was discontinued by GReddy.

So a basic jwt can't activate the vvl ?

There is a certain ecu that you can use to activate it with a jwt. If you call them they should be able to guide you on what ecu to get.

You don't want ECU to actavite it cause as u get more stuff the VVL POWER point shift so you'll want something that you can adjust with.

I got a mild swap that i have spent about 1700, i still have the stock exh manifold on it and clutch. the engine runs super strong and i have my VVL set up with an A'pexi RSM and i can adjust what rpm i want them to engage at. i also have it setup so that when they engage the lights on the rsm start flashing, looks pretty sweet. I am still upgrading as i get money.

What do you mean mild swap ? And I never taught about that so in case I get more goodies I can change the vvl to a diffrent setting or something huh

by mild i meant i only replaced the things that needed to be like, spark plugs, wires, oil, cap/rotor, things of that nature. i did not spend on getting a header, ecu, clutch etc. that's how i was able to keep my swap to a mere 1700 bucks

paid 800 for the vvl
the rest of the money went to odds and ends to get the engine running.
wire tires
wire looms
electrical tape
a'pexi rsm
water temp gauge autometer
vvl cap and rotor
3 oil changes in one week
spark plugs
spark plug wires
had to buy both cv shafts as they were in bad shape
all mounts are new - ploy
grease cleaner
paint - rattle can
heater hose

local library has all the Chilton's so i made copies of all the wiring for free.
not included in the 1700 was also
all new brakes
all new struts
new ball joints
new swag bar bushings
new tires

i love my setup!!!
i'll love it even more as i start to throw upgraded parts on it.

the honduh boys always ask if its got a honduh engine in it, i just laugh at them bandwagon tool bags and say u think honduh was the only car that had variable valve timing on it? hahahahah

not sure if this is normal on all vvl's but my oil pressure is so high that as i rev through the gears i can hear my pump whine as if it had a supercharger on it, sounds so bad ass then you hear the vvl engage, what a beautiful sound it is!!!!!!
