Does anyone know the difference in width of the oil pump gear between the VET oil pump and DET (non GTiR) oil pump ??

Found a stronger chromoly steel oil pump gear kit for DET pump, was hoping i could fit it in a 20v VE/VET pump ??

No, I doubt it, the VE pump gears are wider than the DET for sure

Thanx, well apparently this pump gear fits a GTIR pump too and that gear is wider than the VE/VET pump gear right ?? Its made by REIMAX JAPAN, they make uprated oil pumps and gears for GTR's and just the gears for SR20DET along with alot of other parts but they specialise in GTR aftermarket parts.. Their sites in japanese so theres not a whole lot of info i can get from there

Or is the GTIR pump gear the same as VE/VET ?? As ive found a thread on here that says they are the same dimension and one that says the GTIR pump gear is thicker with images and measurements .. Can anyone confirm ??

And i dont think you can put a thinner gear in the thicker housing. While the diameter of the gears may be the same, it doesnt matter. If you put the thin gear in the thick housing I highly doubt the pump will work properly.

Why are you wanting the chromoly set anyways?

Ive seen damage occur to the gear but ive yet to see a VE oil pump gear shatter or break. I was turning my motor to 10,200 rpm at one point and it damaged the teeth of the gear slightly but it didnt break it. I was also not using an ATI or similar damper, i was using a stock VE pulley. I was fine to 9700 rpm but the 10,200 caused issues.
