The tedious part once the kelfords are in is measure up the clearances and will have to reshim the head.

I like doing things once so I would save the extra time and take the head off. Just my preference.

No absolute need ok, just pray one valve doesn't drop when doing it with an air compressor, rope, etc. It happens. and you will end up taking the head off anyway.

And also there is the shimming and degreeing thing, sooo you need cam gears too, add $150 more.

Accept it, it is not so plug and play as dropping N1 cams.

If you don't mind, of course, 184-C are so much worht it over stock cams, so do it.

I never said it was.

Yes, 184-C cams are not for the non-wrenching folks or the folks with shallow pockets. For sure.

With the cost of new Kelfords, yes expect to drop around $1,500 once all is said and done.

I see what you are saying Kcobabe. Not arguing. I thought you were thinking that the head must come off. For the power gains, its hard to justify to the average guy. Gotta be a die hard N/A fan.

Instead of running 184-B i would run 184-D. They are N1 high lobe but with a kelford designed bigger low lobe for more midrange over N1 cams

Nobody ever posted info on them working as expected (184-D dyno). All was kept secret of those who bought them. If somebody has a 184-D Dyno, post it and probe me wrong please! I was an inch away of getting them... Went N1 thou, not regretting it.

Probably more power, but possibly not worth the money when you add up other items that money can be spent on. Suspension comes to mind.

They will be the same price as the 184-B, so not quite sure what you mean by not worth the money?
They wont make more power than N1s as the High lobes are N1 high lobes, they just have a better low lobe than N1s that all. Was just trying to say if you are going to spend the $1000 for Kelford ground N1s, I would get the 184-D as they will cost the same anyway thats all.
If you could get the genuine N1s thats a different story as they are generally cheaper than Kelfords
I dont have any experience but a friend of mine made 214whp on 184-D with his VE. Had 45mm ITBs and a good header

184-C are for high compression....so it will require oversize pistons or shaved head and for sure valve springs.
I think everyone always talk about 184-c, but will result in an overcamed engine with the standard compression
