Which supertech valve spring set to get..
There are 2 sets available for the VE:

sprk-H1022d-ve

130 lbs seat pressure -- 130 lbs @ 37.30mm
11.50mm Max Net Lift
19.50mm Coil Bind
11.20 lbs/mm Rate

or

sprk-2035-2022

93 lbs seat pressure -- 100 lbs @ 37.30mm
15.70mm Max Net Lift
19.50mm Coil Bind
9.40 lbs/mm Rate
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So which would be the one to get for running N1 cams and rev to 8500rpm? I am thinking the second one sprk-2035-2022 but would like to know from those who have used them before I bite the bullet.

Or if someone can say the BC is better and why, I would appreciate that info as well. The tech info on the BC is a bit sketchy.

Thanks

If you are on stock valves I would remain on the safe side with the second spring set.

If you are also buying supertech valves then I would go with the first set and have some 9k fun

It just all depends on the use you have for them. N/A id go with the second set as they dont take as much effort to open thus less power loss. They are good to 10k rpm easy. Most people go with the second set.

I went with the first set on my big turbo setup for one i had initially planned to rev to 10k plus and two better sealing under big boost. I too am using n1 cams and have taken the motor past 10k. Also on stock valves and had no issues with valvetrain.

As stated. No need for anything stiffer than the 2035's when revving to 8500 RPM.

Also, I have a BNIB set of supertech 2035's for sale. Check my signature. PM me if interested.

HD 2210's if you are going to run N1 cams. Have this setup on my VE and it's a fantastic combo.

Storm, you mean the h1022d? the higher spring rate and higher seat pressure? Are you using with stock valves and NA? what springs did you run before, for instance had you used stock springs with the N1's and what specific improvements did you achieve on changing to h1022d's

Thanks for the previous replies guys, it was along my thinking as well for less power lost in the valve train and less stress overall, I figure the least spring pressure that will get the job done would be best.

B15NEOVVL, I saw you sale thread but I wanted to get the package with the Ti Retainers, sorry.

Oops, yeah, sorry I mixed up the numbers. The Supertech springs that I have are SPR-H1022D. I am using them with stock valves, yes, and the car is all NA, just intake/header/exhaust/ecu etc. with the N1 cams. Before the N1 cams and supertech springs were installed it was just the stock springs with the stock cams. The biggest difference apparently comes on at WOT around 6000rpm to fuel cut, it pulls really nicely, and another good thing is the idle at traffic lights is pretty mild.
