How far did you break your motor down?
Sorry if this is a repost.
Anyway as some may know I bought my VE last weekend and am about to tear into it this weekend. Just trying to decide on how far to break it down. I was there for the compression test and very good numbers accross all cylinders.
Just from sitting and to be on the safe side I'm replacing the main seals, but what else?
Also how far should I go on replacing accessories?
Also right now I'm just looking to get a running car that will pass emissions (yes car will get a tune, and it's a B13). I was already told by 2 emissions facilities and the state of texas that older then 20 years and not OBD2 just the sniff. Since I'm going to paint the car I will go into internal mods after, so just needs to run for about 12-18 months anyway.
I've also read debates over replacing springs and such for N1's. Should I just not bother putting them in until the rebuild?
I would have posted this in my Member's Car section, but I need direct VVL advice. I always try to be as educated as I can before swapping an engine.
