Notching for valve reliefs would definitely take off some of the weight. It would not take off enough to make it the same weight as the SR16 piston but as you say, it is bigger.

SR16 piston is 86mm, VG30 piston is 87mm. Where are you getting the 2 mm difference? Am i reading Payu's original post wrong? Did he say he found a 1mm over bore ZX piston, which would be 88mm? Or is he saying that it is 87mm but 1mm over the SR16 piston?

Over bore ZX pistons from Nissan are maximum 87.5mm.

Regardless, I would like to see how this turns out. It seems to be an interesting build! Good luck.

Viprdude, that is pretty light for the VK piston!

the VG pistons he is using are .40 over hence the tittle "88mm on a budget"

Using FAST, I see Grade 1, 2, 3, 0.25mm over and 0.50mm over bore in Z32 pistons. Using European and US FAST versions as well.

1mm = 0.0393700787 (let's say 0.040 inches)

87mm stock + 0.5mm overbore = 88mm

87.5 mm

- So 87mm stock + 0.04 inches = 88.01600mm .

cut 0.5mm off the bore = 1mm total increase in bore diameter, so 87mm stock + 1mm larger = 88mm

Well we tune mine today and 91oct gas we did 232.70hp but ill try some diffrent gas to see what happens
