in case you didn't know felpro gasket is thicker than stock and designed for heavy deck on head and block. The OP wants to use oem mls gasket which is thinner...

I've had no marks on the pistons, not even on the carbon buildup. I have also never resurfaced the block though.

So there you have it, DE block + VE head = ........... Hit or Miss lol

So to answer the original question, "Yesno" the valves will hit not.

Seems the difference in the knicked pistons and un touched ones come down to the headgasket thickness. Those that have had issues seem to have thinner gaskets as those that have no issues are running felpros. Felpro is the autozone/advanced gaskets correct?
