Thread: Mobil 1 5w50 on SR20VE

Hey guys, would the Mobil 1 5w50 Oil would work nice on a stock never opened SR20VE? I would like to try this oil but need a second opinion about this.

Any recomendations?

Maybe we should create a poll about which oil we are using for our VE's. Me personally I stick with Nissans recommendations for the DE, but synthetic of course.

Mobil 1 Formula is now for New Engines, not suited for the SR20.

API SL is ok, I cannot find any older graded oils, however

API SG/SH is what the FSM says for 1991-1996 and SJ in 1999-2002 FSMs.

Oh well, never saw the Mobil-1 synthetic high mileage before, guess I'll throw it in the DE next go around (has 180k)

Mobil 1 is perfectly fine for the VE. I've been running it for over a year and never had a problem with my engine what so ever.

I've always used the fully synthetic 5w-30...no experience with the 50 weight. Let me know how it works out!
