My point exactly. Honda "does it right" every time you swap in a stock K20 into your car. There is no chance a machine shop is going to mess it up. And with SRs that chance seems to be quite high unless you take it to 2 or 3 known reputable places in the US. They seem to guard the secret tightly (for obvious reasons).

Ben that goes with anything.... If done right it will last. Anything built right will be reliable. Have it be a bar stool or a motor.

Yah. The argument was spend the money on a K-series swap, or spend in on a VE swap + displacement increase, etc. to end up with a better enthusiast car. Because the K swap costs an arm and a leg. I'm just saying, you do get some piece of mind that you're not chancing a botched sleeve job, etc. along with that price tag.

So I had a chance to meet up with the Integra guy again. Here's the story, he's put almost 10 grand into the K swap and mods. Now he may have been BSing but he seemed like an honest guy.. it was the fastest Integra I've ever come across. Here I am putting a long and this Integra comes up on my right revving. It was a 2 lane road merging to 1 up ahead, and I was on the left, I'm like "LOL" and up until 3rd gear it was even but after, he was gone. He did ask me what I had in my car and said "yours is really fast actually" and I just said "VE swap" - no idea if he knew what that was or not.

Yep, I used to say the best dollar for dollar was the SR20DE, now I def agree it's the SR20VE. And you can boost a VE for WELL under $10 grand including the cost of the engine swap itself, and run faster than that Integra.

sr20ve 1.58:1

k20a 1.62:1

and just for interest the k24

1.54:1. Worse than the sr, but also has .4L more displacement

The other thing going for the K is the accessibility of the big cranks
