Well i was talking about OBD1.

P10's here are OBD1.

The VE ECU does plug into the STOCK highport OBD1 harness

I would get it actually tuned down the road when i have everything done to that I am going to do. This is just to get me going pretty decent on basically a stock ve til I get deeper into it.

P10's are split OBD1 from 91-93 and OBD2 from 94 and on from what im reading.

That would be USDM. JDM P10's are OBD1 all the way to 95 and are all highport.



That would be the best way. There isn't a stock ECU which will run the SR20VE perfectly. So its up to you if you want to run the DE or VE ecu before getting it tuned.

In terms of getting the engine. Miko seems to be good at sourcing engines for the community. Ebay would be another place as a lot of the US engine importers advertise there.

True. However the SR20VE wasnt used in any vehicle until after 1997. OBD2 became the standard in 1996, some vehicles used it prior but not many. Not sure what differences there are in the wiring harness for the jdm p10's but I am quite certain its not reflected similarly in the USDM b13's unfortunately.

Thats half right. I have an SR20VE ECU here thats out of a 2001 and has the same plug as my 1991 OBD1 ECU.

P11 SR20VE's I think stopped being produced in 1997. But there are other cars like the U14 Bluebird and the Y11 Wingroad that were made much later but have the identical engine.

The SR20VE ECU will plug into a OBD1 Harness of any chassis.

Earliest production year listed is 1997. The 16VE doesnt specify an exact date of release into vehicles. The n1 also states 1997.
However the wiring diagrams do match mostly, with exception to things that dont exist in non VVL w/ CVT vehicles.
