Street engine,

Drag strip about once every 6 weeks, some fast road driving, but 85% of the time will be driven with revs no higher than 4000RPM.

Sounds good to me.

Unless the material is different than what i am thinking of, the custom cp, wiseco, etc... pistons need some time to warm up before hammering on them to let the piston expand and fully seal in the cylinder bore.

I would stick to the OEM cast piston to do an upgrade. I am doing the same thing with a Non-VE engine and I am in search of SR16VE Non N1 pistons for my application.

I understand you have the N1 pistons you wish to use. I cannot recommend what to do with them to get to your goal. I simply, would not use them.

I know another brand of a company that makes pistons out of a proper aluminum that is lighter than stock cast and expands less and a much better choice for an engine that will be daily-driven.

Not a problem using forged pistons in a daily, just gotta remember to now hammer-on the thing when it is first started and still cold. PM me if you want any more help.

I might know of someone selling SR16VE Pistons, I quite like the design of the N1 Pistons due to the oil gallery and deeper valve reliefs and a lighter piston slightly.

CP uses 2618 aluminum.

IIRC SR20VE head + N1 pistons will get you 13:1 CR. So i think that if you use that and a ticker heat gasket like 2mm you would get 12.5:1, that with the N1 cams would be one hell of an engine. And i know that the gas there in US is very good so i think you wont have any issues with detonation.
