Unless the material is different than what i am thinking of, the custom cp, wiseco, etc... pistons need some time to warm up before hammering on them to let the piston expand and fully seal in the cylinder bore.
I would stick to the OEM cast piston to do an upgrade. I am doing the same thing with a Non-VE engine and I am in search of SR16VE Non N1 pistons for my application.
I understand you have the N1 pistons you wish to use. I cannot recommend what to do with them to get to your goal. I simply, would not use them.
I know another brand of a company that makes pistons out of a proper aluminum that is lighter than stock cast and expands less and a much better choice for an engine that will be daily-driven.
Not a problem using forged pistons in a daily, just gotta remember to now hammer-on the thing when it is first started and still cold. PM me if you want any more help.
