Thread: vvl solenoid w/ screen

The other day i noticed my vvl solenoids were leaking, so i went to the boneyard and picked up a couple solenoids from some b15 1.8 sentras. From all the info i gathered i thought they were identical minus the plug, what i found though is that they are identical in size, but there is a screen covering what i'm guessing is the oil inlet. I installed them and all is well, no leaks vvl seems to hit fine.
Has anyone else run into this? I was thinking of taking them out and removing the screens since there is a screen in the housing, But i figured it could only help them not to leak again.....thoughts?

Screen is probably a filter. I'd leave it in.
