Yea the tune one i figured id have to have someone look at the tune. What should my ideal timing be? Or is it at wat the ecu was timed at?

Well your base mechanical timing should be 15* btdc but if your mechanical timing is off it'll also throw off the timing on the tune.

As far as ideal timing, you'd have to put the car on the dyno and mess with it a bit to get it dialed in perfectly. Most tunes you'll find, esp on here, will be pretty good on timing and such, though.

Oh ok. I was told i have a calum ecu with a VE stock tune. So im guessing that the timing should be at 15*. Do tuners usually go with the stock timing? Sorry for all the stupid questions.

Well timing changes throughout your RPM; thus the 15* BASE timing.
But yes a stock tune is exactly that, stock, so it should be set for 15*

And timing will depend on the fuel that you use. The higher the octane the more timing you can run without detonation.

Oh ok. Well seeing as how the cheapest thing to do at the moment will be checking my timing ill do that. If that doesnt work then ill do the tune up then a retune. I appreciate all your help.
