VE tune up parts?
Ok i feel kinda stupid asking this but ive searched and cant come up with a deffinate answer or maybe im looking into it way to much. Well im a noob to Nissan, im coming fro the Honda world. So my question is do i ask for DE parts for my VE to do a tune up? Bought the car swapped and im new to Nissans so im srill trying to do some reaserch. Also i was told that the previous owner used a VE distributor not the DE. So anyone know if the distributor, car, rotor and wires will work from a DE to the VE? Thanxx in advance. Btw i have a sr20ve in my 99 G20

The DE stuff wont go to a VE.

You'll have to order the VE cap and rotor from GregV

But yes, a pic will help.

So nothing from a DE will work on a VE? Plugs, wires pcv ect? Also does greg have oem parts?

Greg is all OEM.

Wires you'll have to use lowport wires, as well as oil filter (cars from 95-99)
Cap and rotor from Greg, as they're special.

Plugs go for NGK BKR6E(found at many auto parts stores)

And yes that's the VE dizzy

I have a newer VE cap and rotor if you want them.
They were never ran on my car, I could never get my dizzy to spark so I used the DE one so if you want them pm me.

Ok sounds good. Well main reason why im asking all this is because im having an issue with this car. I was thinking of a tune up first the go with having someone retune my ecu. Lmk wat u think.

when i go wot on it while driving it will pull good then lag then pull again all the way to redline, mainly does it around 5000 rpms and doesn't matter what gear im in...for some reason it just doesn't pull smoothly to redline....i have a calum basic ecu setup for n60 maf,ve inj, stock cams, has window switch and is set at 4500 and redlines at 8000rPms. Also has stock full exhaust which ill upgrade in a few weeks. Also has a cel on for egr. Im doing the reaistor mod soon tho. Its a 99 g20

Check your timing. Both mechanical and on the tune.

And a tune up never hurts.

(mechanical timing)
How to: Adjusting Ignition Timing - SR20 Forum
This shows it better than I can explain

For the tune timing you'll have to look at the tune.
