i purchased this car believing what the previous owner told me ... i hope he is right ... i believe him till someone proves me wrong ... here some pics that bazza asked me for to help me out with determining if this is a n1 or not took 27 pictures before i got both of the valves lol didnt wanna remove that whole head ... call me lazy but i dont wanna snap a exhaust bolt ... hopefully this can find me the truth ... thanks alot for all ur feed back

Hey man don't smash your head anymore.
What you got there is fine SR16VE engine with a full N1 intake manifold and probably some internals.
You ain't have a genuine N1 engine. A SR16VE will always be a 1,6lt engine and the SR20VE will give you hard time...
You can use a diagnostics software to read the code of your ecu and find out what you actually have. Since you don't have 8 injectors you don't need a N1 ecu, you can tune yours.

All Genuine N1 use a hydraulic transmission, 8 injectors, unique Aluminum 80mm maf 22680-2N500, special air hose and air box, unique AAC valve 23781-1N500, etc...
Their fuel rail comes with a single regulator and no fuel damper...

I never removed the header and I'm not planning to do it in the near future...

thats cool but thanks for the help ... now i know what i have to do .... the previous owner told me to get a sr20 bottom end but i wanna see what i can do with the sr16 first ... wont hurt cause i can always use the bolt ons for the sr20 whenever i decide to go that route
