He designed an angled adopter plate which allows for about any length velocity stack without interference from the firewall.
I had a set flown in from him and had it flow tested when I had my cyl head ported. Total flow loss with the adaptor and E46 throttles was only 2.5%

The radical angle entering the head is what's killing performance with his throttles. You want bends as far away from the throttles/head as possible.
