Cracked pistons in SR20VE
I did a SR20VE swap to a friends EUDM P11 GT, it has basic parts:
- SSAC header
- de-cat + stock exhaust (temporarily)
- Nistune ECU with Calum basic SR20VE bin
- JWT Pop Charger

It was running ok for maybe 100miles, then this happened... cracked two pistons and plug. Any idea why it did happened? Thanks

Did you use the DE or VE injectors with that tune?

Stock VE 333cc injs and tune for stock VE with everything stock + suited MAF for this car. It worked for many cars before.

The tune might have been a bit too aggressive for stock exhaust. How do the spark plugs look?

Also, how old was the motor and do you know the condition when it was installed, where it came from?

Could have possibly been damaged slightly before it was swapped in and just got worse.

Could have been bad injectors not flowing enough fuel to cause this.

I will ask for pics. I told him to get proper exhaust.

I bought it from US imported, straight swap out of JDM P11. Engine looked really clean in and out.

But this owner is second in a row, there was first owner before. There was an issue that it does run too rich, he didnt solve it and sold it to this guy.

Two injectors? Sounds not really typical to me...

It's a used motor so anything could happen. It's injectors or too much timing for the gas been used.

It can be 2 injectors if there is a fault before cylinder 3 and 4. Check the wiriing for the injectors and the connectors.

Anyone else notice there is more carbon build up as you go down the cylinders on that head?
