Because Square/over square > under square. A 87x86 will make the same or more power depending on supporting mods with a better powerband for less money.

A high comp 92 x 68 VE with a set of ITB's is what needs to be done.

Even a 88x86 is enough for 270whp when done the right way.

ive never been a big fan of those strokers unless you plan on going with a deck plate $$$$$$$

if you wanna spend that money go 92 bore leave the stroke stock, its not worth the headaches and cost. the money you spend on a good stroker crank custom rods is not worth it esp if something goes wrong with say a rod bearing.

Same car they are talking about.

Before/after tune & dyno correction.

100% Stock VE block, N1's & ITB's, 4-1 header.

Dyno sheet with custom plenum manifold vs. ITB's. First pull no tuning.

Most VE's with bolt-ons make from 180-190whp on this dyno so you can get an idea.

I know some fool who trapped 107mph on his 2L but could not get his 60' under a 2.2

When done the right way those are the gains to be had.

But people will still play with GTI-R and other tiny throttles and be happy with 2whp peak gain and 10whp in the midrange.
