What other mods need to be done to the transmission or additional parts needed to install these on a regular DE box?? Clutch disc need to be replaced too what model car clutch?
Actually If you consider the amount of money involved on a 6spd swap or getting a P11 transmission and braking gears on it an fix it a couple of times ITS NOT THAT EXPENSIVE!!!

Thats it.

The disc you special order. Mazwork actually should have the disc that they use for their 6 speed swap kits

You need a SR20DE 215mm size disc with a larger spline from say a 240sx, 300zx, Maxima

You are correct that the price is not bad. The piece of mind of having a tranny that will hold the abuse is priceless.

Lets get back to the idea of straight cut gears and why the factory box breaks third.

Ok factory gear box breaks third because under power helical gears try to move away from each other. Straight cut gears do not try and seperate from each other. These gears are also slightly wider and the straight cut gears will mesh with a larger surface area.

With the par gear set if you use the 4.176 or 4.44 you will be using the factory pinion shaft. That being said your frien broke the Mfactory pinion shaft.

The par gear sets runs a larger main shaft thats why the box has to be drilled out for the larger 240sx spline seal.

Exactly why I am interested. I'll keep you posted. All depends on how my 2.3 acts with me.

Here is a look at a direct comparison between the PAR and SER box with the same FDs.

Please note that this PAR gear set will do what the SER box will not. It will be easy to drive on the street with the longer first and second, it will be much quicker in 4th putting the car right in the power band to go through the traps. Remember 4th is where you cover the most distance at speed, so here is where the car will make up alot of time. 3rd is a little quicker also.

8000 RPMs with 23in tires

-------------4.176-----4.437-----( 4.70 )
1. 2.40-------55-------52--------( 49 )
2. 1.65-------79-------75--------( 71 )
3. 1.32-------99-------94--------( 88 )
4. 1.10------119------113-------( 106 )
5. 0.81------162------154-------( 144 )

SER Gears For Comparison at 8000 RPMs, 4.176, 4.44 and 4.70 FD with 23in tires

1. 3.063-----43-------40-------( 38 )
2. 1.826-----72-------68-------( 64 )
3. 1.286----102-------96-------( 91 )
4. 0.975----134------127------( 120 )
5. 0.756----173------163------( 154 )

I tired to make these PAR gear set to run great on the street and on the track. Remember you can also run any 5th gear you want because we use nissan 5th gears.

3. 1.32------103-------97--------( 91 )
4. 1.10------123------116-------( 110 )
