The threaded sensor with a probe is the EGR temp. Depending on the ECU that you have, it might still throw a code with it just plugged in (that was the case with my Nistune). I just used the resistor and didn't have a problem after that.
The EGR solenoid is a little plastic device that is either black or blue in color and has 3 vacuum nipples on it.
in this diagram it's called the canister control solenoid valve.
