next time i go to the dyno ill try out a theory of mine. I'm thinking partial throttle tuning should be carried out near the diagonal line, mainly in the accelerate portion of the rectangle. or do you think it's entirely unnecessary. someone care to comment?? lets put our heads together here.

Well I would think the main benefit for part throttle tuning would be gas mileage, and response? I was just thinking when you are cruising around, if it was tuned verse a rich tune it might respond better to slight inputs?

Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable folk can chime in with how often partial throttle tuning is necessary or beneficial?

i have kind of come to the conclusion that as long as the afr is good under all conditions that i would leave the part throttle timming alone, atleast until i change the cr

I don't know why, I thought you were talking about 44psi with the hose connected

Thanks for that explaination and visualization! It actually helped quite a bit with understanding the tables. Are you using rom editor?

Unfortunately, I have am still using my basic calum ecu So it will take quite a bit more time on the rollers to pull the roms and burn them after every change. I need to just break down and get the realtime.....

Didn't it come with one?

Dudeman: better throttle response may be had by a small bump in timing. but like Cory said, gotta watch afr's. she's already mapped for stoich at light throttle.
jer_760: i'm using Tuner Pro RT and EmUtility.
Dan: you have a PM
(i smell 220+ on the Intec Dynojet)

What springs/retainers did you throw in with the n1 cams if any?

Hmm...I'll have to try those two and see if they are more user friendly.

Ric - Why both TunerPro RT & Emutility? The emulation function on TunerPro works well for me.

I was wondering what timing map you started with, the OEM 20VE or 16VE?

ya know, your right. i haven't used EmUtility. i downloaded it last year when i was researching the Calum rt ecu (maybe he mentioned it). i originally thought TPRT was gonna use EmU. for emulating
i've used TPRT exclusively. and it's actually quite fun, though expensive, on the dyno.
the oem b14 ecu started w/the stock sr20ve program from Calum.
