Installing an oil catch can on ve
So i've been reading around about people setting up their oil catch can by going off the pcv and then to the intake manifold. My question is, instead of doing that, could you run a line from the fitting off the block, and then from the CC to the fitting on the VC that is facing the radiator? i was thinking about mounting it towards the firewall but i want to be able to easily drain the catch can when i do oil changes or depending on how full it it. I have a perfect mounting location for it where the old air box goes, and will be perfect since i can just remove the drain plug for it and drain it out when i perform oil changes on it. here is how i would want to set it up.

If you're wondering why no one is giving you any help is because like it was said, you're totally missing the point of a catch can.

A catch can is to clean the air that goes into the intake manifold, NOT to "remove all the unburnt fuel and contaminants from the oil."
Why do you think a catch can is used from the PCV valve to the IM and the other fitting on the VC to the intake tube.

Well apparently everyone is running catch cans for a different reason than what i stated previously. i am not trying to get into an argument over this, i just wanted an answer.

So if i am completely missing the point of a catch can. please explain to me what the point is.

my understanding of the catch can, is to remove oil from intake.. (or keep it from going into intake manifold) so were your hose is ran sorta threw me off...

getting rid of this oil keeps your effective octane at decent levels..
