warm up the engine. set the tps to ~ .45v (closed) then put into timing mode. a way to check if your iacv is set correctly is to disconnect the tps. the idle should be stable @ the same rpm as with it connected. (750rpm) if the idle slows way down when you plug it in, you have the iacv adjusted for to high an idle. the opposite is true if the idle speeds up.
remember, the ecu wants the engine to idle @ ~750 rpm and will continue to try to force it to that speed. if the tps, and especially the iacv are adjusted incorrectly, you'll get the famous "hunting idle". playing with the throttle stop should not be necessary if you have an iacv.

So I see everyone still has this lovely issue. I see allot of you use voltage to check your throttle position. But do you read 100% throttle? I got my ve to idle at 700-850. But my tps read 88.6% throttle when it was at wot. I'm readjusting my tps to read 100% but I idle at 1300 and shoot up to 2k when I throw it in gear. I did mess with the little idle knob next to the purple plug. Anyone got any idea on how to come up with a solution for this squat.?

my idle wihtout AC used to be 500rpm and with AC is 800rpm but was too low. I upped it on the know at the side of the IACV and the no AC idle was higher than the one with AC...

so I unplugged the IACV and now its at 1000rpm with or without AC

havent tried cleaning IACV yet
