You have a solid trans though. For a road course, it should do just fine. It may hurt you in the 1/4 but then again thats not what this car is being built for. Whatever it is, best of luck. Should do great overall!

are you talking about the 1/4 mile or on a circuit? do you mean the 16ve tranny sucks on the 1/4?

It doesn't suck, the gear spacing between 3 and 4 is just less then ideal, there is a big gap in mph...

^Exactly. If you watch an in car video of a car with an SR16 trans, you can hear the difference in the gaps from 1-3 and the gap of 3-4. Ok back on topic boys. If we need to discuss this we can start another thread. Sorry Joe!

Header testing is out now, complications with the machine shop is putting Jamie behind schedule. And he has numerous builds to finish before the convention. We are just going to go with the 4-1. Hoping for an April road trip

Yeah I spoke to the machine shop today. I wanted to see if I could get some porting done and he said he is slammed with work. He said I might get lucky to just have my head milled and cleaned. Regardless, we'll have some fun!

23 inch slicks and a rev limit of 9ish and you can go threw the traps 1/4 wise.

on a road coarse the 16ve box should still be faster then the de box. correct ?

this was always my understanding of the differences of the two.

my set up: sr16ve tranny, sr20ve with 195whp, n15 hatch, 22" slicks

now, i finish the 1320 @ 99mph in 4th and not in the best part of my power band (about 6700rpm)

i am going to try 23" and rev to 9000rpm and see. maybe i will finish at at about 8900pm in 3rd. still not ideal because i would be way past my peak power

other alternative is se-r tranny and a 4.7 and hope to finish in higher rpm in 4th

but for the road, the sr26 tranny does feel good

peace

Well thats cause u only make 205. If u made more power and higher up in the rpm the 16ve would be the same.
