Macakin can chime in on if this B13 is truly stock or not during this pass but it was said to be stock VE.



This stock VE B13 ran 14.7 withOUT VVL. VVL was not hooked up

Its something that allows the swapped K guys to run the factory rsx ecu. I figure that car was making 180ish whp. Slow as balls.

A properly setup K car will do work. My buddy had a built 2.0 k20a2 in a DC2. The car was quick but it didn't feel much faster, if at all, than my fully bolted N1 cam setup. In an gutted EG/EK, it would have been a problem.

Kpro with out tune it like a JWT ecu.......pretty much just a base map with 2step. Who know if it gutted or not but will a drop in bolt on ve gutted run that fast without tune?

Depends on what you mean gutted. Taking stuff out the trunk and the back seats will not do it. I am going to extremes to get weight down. No panels, dash, sound deadening, etc. More than likely the K will win. The K is superior to the VE in factory spec, let alone the weight difference of a hatch vs our B13's.

They also have better gearing. The K I raced was ready to leave 3rd by the time I was done winding out 2nd gear. It takes work to beat one. Some of the K swaps have been factory freaks that were fast as hell while other kids I have seen trapped 100-103.

There is only one true way to find out. All cars are different along with drivers. A car with great power and gearing will not be as fast as it should be with a bad driver. Thats what it comes down to.

all this talk really makes my ve look like shit.. with n1 cams straight up, 3" exhaust, 3" intake, ssac header i only made 180whp on a dynojet SAE corrected, my best time was 14.0 @ 98.5 mph.. just pathetic.. i really wonder what the issue was.. even before the n1's and 3" i was making 171whp on the same dyno and pulling 14.5 @ 96 mph.. maybe my motors just a pussy? oh well i gave up on the na game, i gave it a try an had some fun but just couldn't get what i wanted with out spending a hole hell of alot of cash..

now, hopefully.. my motor responds to the turbo like it should, or else im going to take it out an swap it for the girlfriends VE lol

i wish that was the problem but i am sure it is not.. that wouldn't explain the low whp on the dyno.. we tried everything short of cam settings.
