Is this setup okay for the beginning? Can I drive the light weight flywheel with the stock VE crank? Because the germans say it would run out of round, thats why I shouldn't drive a light weight flight wheel.

What ECU do you use?

In Germany there is a big price difference between E85 and 98..
I use the stock VE ECU.

I've had the fidanza installed for 4 years, no problems here!

I know there is a difference.. still, you need to use around 30% more E85 fuel over regular 95. I dont see why you need 98 at all. In B13 you should just run DE harness and DE ecu with Nistune. Much much easier and better.

Fidanza and VE is no problem.

Dont put a Walbro 255 pump on your VE, unless you get a Nismo FPR to bring the fuel presure back to stock. This us one reason why people who get JWT ECUs say they run rich. Stock fuel pump is perfect for your 0 - 220 WHP needs.

in my present vvl powered car, i am using a sr16ve fuel pump that came in 2000 vz-r. that is a 12 year old pump. car tuned to 195whp

also know of a guy who did a vvl swap in a n15 pulsar and didnt change the fuel pump. that car came originally ga15de. not sure there was a pump swap (by previous woner) before he went vvl but the car was tuned to 179whp, stock motor, stock cams, stock header. only thing done were vcon, chipped ecu and 2.5" crush bend exhaust

i know of another stock motor tuned to 172whp and using a sr20de fuel pump

none of the above cars had any tuning/fuel issues on the dyno or on the road

when i had my boosted bluebird (sr20de+t), i used a walbro but had to install a fpr because it use to give problems when starting up (flooding i suspect)

conversely, i have known persons using walbro on their ve's without fpr and no issues

peace

As previously discussed. Not needed.

Not needed for regular petrol. A good option if you decide to run e85. I would! If you run an after-market fuel pump, take Miko's advice and get an adjustable fuel-pressure regulator.

VE 333cc inj. are fine for regular petrol. As cory said, if you decide to run e85, DET 370cc injectors @ 4 bar fuel pressure should be fine. S15 injectors (listed @ 480cc but usually flow less apparently) would be a best option but are not needed for a bolted-on VE. You can not change out your injectors or change the fuel pressure on a stock SR20VE ECU. The car will not run properly and the ECU will fight you all the way. If you want to change the injectors, the MAF or the fuel and timing maps, you will need to get a tuneable ECU. If emissions are not a concern in your country, you can stay OBD1 and then get a NEMU R/T ECU package. Then you can change out whatever you like and compensate for the changes with this ECU. This is where you should put your money first! Get your car running properly first and then worry about all of the potential 'power-adders' after.

Will be fine for a bolted-on VE. Although 3 inch cat-back would be better.

I don't have any personal experience with e85 but as others have stated, you will need appx. 30% more volume of fuel if you use e85 over premium petrol. What is the cost of e85 vs premium fuel? For every 10 litres of petrol you will need appx. 13 litres of e85. Do the math and find out which is more expensive, 13 litres of e85 or 10 litres of 91-94 octane. This will tell you which fuel to run! This is the point Jagy was trying to make!

As others have said, not a problem. You can get an 8.5 lb aluminum flywheel or a 11-13 lb chromoly flywheel. The heavier one would be my choice for day to day driveability in stop and go traffic with A/C running. Others have the lighter flywheel under these circumstances and love it. It is all personal preference. Both are fine.

175-195 depending on tune.

There is a lot of good info for you in this thread, I am just rounding it all up for you and adding some additional info as well!

for the corn fuel, all you need is about 450+ cc injectors, walbro intank and the right tuning. tuning is the must. dont think you'll get the right results with an safc tune. and as for crank, you will need to line bore where the journals sit, i like my eight CW cause of the extra protection for high power with the girdle. and from what i understand [pls correct me if im wrong] but the bearing will wear out quicker with the 4cw? just a thought from my knowledge. i dont have the experience to talk about em but that's my .02....

There is no evidence to suggest the bearings will wear any faster with the 4crw crank. Also you do not need to line bore the block. Just leave the oem bottom.

If for some reason you insist on running the 8crw crank for whatever reason then atleast make it worth your while and add some sr16/n1 pistons. And then don't run the girdle. You won't need to line bore. But id say leave your bottom end stock and enjoy!

With a stock ve the stock injectors at 59psi (4bar) will be sufficient or e85, and you will need to upgrade the stock pump aswell..
