i am surprised the motor survived @ +11 degrees on intake

this throws a lot of what is said on here into question...

like 'most you can advance cam gears is 6 degrees'

but...

well he didnt say crank degrees

yes. mine is set @ +5,-5 and yielded 195whp/149tq and feels strong

my slick size/gear box combo is not the best but will see what she will do on the 1320 this month end

If he didnt meant to say +11 crank degrees were did he got a cam gear that allow him to advance +11 cam degrees since there its none in the market most cam gears are rated @ +10,-10 cam degrees.... ???

I was told by the first place that took the car that the setting were +12 IN, -7 EX. I got the second place to verify this which returned with +11 IN, -4 EX meaning that the first tuner gave me the wrong information in the first place.

I spoke to the new tuner this evening and was discussing the tune as i had a feeling the previous was out of whack and i guess i was on the money.

They didn't feed it much timing and after the second tune was done it made 124KW with identical cam gear timing.

The cam gears are BC cam gears and allow for an adjustment of +15,-15.

The second tuner expressed his concern for valve damage from the excessive cam timing.. compression test was done just to be sure and everything came back A1.
I'll explain it so i no longer confuse you guys haha.

Dyno sheet 1 =SR20VE cams WITH TUNE vs N1 cams WITH TUNE
- Tune was done at the same place.
- (RED)SR20VE cams WITH TUNE(no dialing) = 111.7KW
- (BLACK)N1 cams WITH TUNE(dialing, +12, -7 *even tho it was actually +11, -4* = 114.9KW

Dyno sheet 2 = N1 cam + tune from previous place VS N1 cam + tune from second workshop
- (RED)N1 cams WITH PREVIOUS TUNE(dialed to +11,-4) = 116.2KW(within 1 kw of the previous dyno)
- (BLUE)N1 cams WITH NEW TUNE from second workshop(+4, -2) = 131.3KW

In saying this i would assume that if i dynoed my car on the first dyno provided conditions were the same, i would be within 1KW of the final tune.

Regardless I am extremely happy with how the car is performing apart from wondering how the stock cams would have performed if they were taken to the second shop

I was also stumped by this, as on the cam gears -15 and +15 are evident.

Pictures were taken when they were bought awhile back
