What is cbttfb?

I've decided I am just going to look for the best "deal"

I found a 2000 G20 with 104k miles for $2200

A 96 200SX with a rebuilt tranny and tons of performance parts recently added for $2600

I'm waiting for my return, but I think that is the best way to make my decision

my wife wants a luxury car (she won't be driving, just ride-along)

and I want a fast car

I thought the G20 might be a decent compromise for both of us, but we'll see what I can get

Sounds like my best bet would be to get a 1990-96 in good condition for the best of both worlds.

Get a 1991 G20, old G20's are much better, rear independant suspension, lighter, better looking(imo)

I would go for a 94-96 g20t because if I remember correctly, unless the trans and an axle is swapped, there is no LSD in the first few years. If you find a 200sx with mods that are similar to what you would have done yourself, go that way. It will save you a decent amount of money from the get go and at least in a straight line, the 200sx with mods will be much more fun to drive than any stock g20. If there are suspension mods it will handle pretty well also. Maybe not quite as well as a g20, even with stock suspension as long as it all still works, but good enough to put a smile on your face. Get whatever deal is best is what I say. If you can find a modded p10, then best of both worlds.

Some of this is subjective.

I have both, and the G20 rotates better than my 200SX. That is objectively, the honest truth. The stock G20 handles better than my b14 with KYB AGX struts/shocks, Hypercoil progressive springs, and LoCo rear upper mounts. That is sad, imho.

The Touring model packages on the P10 have LSD. If you find a P10 without LSD, get the appropriate axles and transmission and bam, you now have LSD in your P10. Very easy since Touring models are crashed all the time by punks and SR20 LSD transmissions are everywhere.

The 93.5, imho, is the best year for P10. You get OBD I ECU, R134 A/C, air bags for added safety, and no passive seat belts of death. (And if you find a 93.5 with a sunroof, that is the first year of remote entry as well in the P10 series)

1994-1996, is the Touring Package years that offer the LSD option.

If you just want to go fast and in a straight line, than get the 200SX. If you are looking for something else to the driving experience, get a P10 and the smiles are free when you buy one.

I have owned both also and agree that the g20 is a better handling car, which is why I said it will out handle a lightly modded 200sx suspension setup as long as the suspension isn't old and worn out. Having a car that will at least be able to hold its own from stop light to stop light is more fun to me personally, in a daily driver at least. If it were going to see auto cross or road course time then G20 all day. It is all personal preference so go out and drive some cars and decide for your self. I know you (Viprdude) have already decided, lol. It is quite evident from all of you recent posts that you love the G20 and I don't blame you. I also agree that a 93.5 or 94 would be the best year of the G20.

Going to cross my fingers for a modded P10

I'll take whatever I can get.

I'd be happy with

1. An old fast 200SX
2. An old fast SER
3. An old fast G20
4. A new slow G20

LOL

I really want a 91-96 G20t

But now that I finally have the money can't find ANYTHING

I did find this one

1996 infiniti g20

had to track the guy down online to get his number and he's giving every excuse in the book not to sell to me.

Asked him to smog and he said he doesn't have time... lol

Keeps saying it is sold as is and he can't be bothered to do anything with it.

Keep finding the newer 99-2001 G20's for 4-8k and the G20t i find are all AUTO But i've decided i really don't want a newer one unless I can find another super good deal on one.

Hoping for a 90-96 G20t for 1100-2400

Fixed it for you. P10 "T" model was only offered from 94-96.

Maybe that is why they are so damn hard to find. Keep finding the newer ones, and even those are all auto.

1996 INFINITI G20 Transmission

Is there a cheaper place to find an LSD tranny?
