N1 cams, stock springs & retainers, stock rods, get the crank checked and polished, sr16 pistons, a good header and something to tune with. You are in the 210-230 whp area with that setup being reliable as hell and not having to shell out so much cash for not much wheel horsepower. If you are really only looking for 190whp, stock ve, n1 cams, ssac and a tuneable ecu and you are there. It is the extra above 190whp that cost the most money and for what you have listed you are looking at spending 4 times what you need to to get 190whp. I still stand by my suggestions rather than just a bolt on ve with a crappy header because those extra 20-30whp are a huge difference. Like I have said before and will continue to say, the people who over think and over do unnecessary things to be safe actually seem to be the ones always building and never driving. That or rebuilding the setup because something went wrong whether it be at the machine shop or during assembly. If you are going to go with springs and retainers, get some kelfords, if just n1s, why bother?

understood drew as soon as i get this crank checked out and cleaned up im gonna order the main bearings and take it from there.. then getting a hold of some pistons is the next step they sell quick on here any ways im gonna fetch out my crank from the attic tomorrow and take the old ve pistons off the rods thats at least a start im starting to really like the idea of 210-230 hp range

ill tell you this right now, i trust no one in ny to to tune my car.

ive used the same tuner for a few years now. he tuned my 400whp det and that motor ran really good, driveability was on point.

he tuned my 2.4 twice, the last time it blew up on the way home from the dyno.

he then tuned my oem ve 2.0 on the tps. wot it ran great, but partial throttle and driveability sucked.

i went back to him and told him to clean it up. he put it on the map sensor, driveability is good, but i didnt have him mess with it past 6k or wot, because i just dont trust him at this point.

sr20gti-r will be tunning my new 2.1ish lol. he knows his shit up and down.

I guess I should have said pm marksr20 or sr20gti-r when you are ready to tune to set something up rather than just drive up there and hope they may be around, lol
