^ Like Dave said, if you continue running the motor the way it is you will quickly destroy it or at the very least wear it out prematurely. Running with DE inj; then VE inj; no wideband etc. etc. etc. is the reason I went form a 220+ PSI engine to a barely reading 200PSI engine.

What fuel are you running and what is your timing set at? Have you modified or changed anything with the distributor? Post some pictures of the spark plugs, if you can.

I could be wrong but I believe it would be better to run the DE injectors if you are running the DE ECU, I would highly recommend getting a VE tuned ECU though, the timing maps etc. are different on the DE ECU than what the VE calls for.

Shit well ill stop driving her for now. I hope my compression isnt that bad. Im running 87. Ran 91 for a while though. No more 87. And the distributor, no just cut the bottom flange thats it. Ill post some pics

I wouldn't run anything lower than 91 in a VE. The compression ratio is 10.3:1 so your chances of detonation are higher than a stock DE. The higher the octane fuel you run the less likely you are to detonate. If I were in your situation and I HAD to drive the car, I would swap the DE injectors in, if you have a full tank of 87 I would get maybe some octane booster and mix it in? And then next fill up definitely get 91 or 93 if you have that available to you.

You should check your timing, with a timing light. Advanced timing and 87 octane is definitely no good. I wouldn't want to see you hurt your engine before you actually get to experience VVL in all of its glory!

91-93 octane and 19-20* timing is usually fine with VE injectors on a DE ECU, although you don't want to do this permenently. Neither scenario (DE INJ/DE ECU or VE INJ/VE ECU) is ideal for a prolonged period of time on an untuned VE engine.

A wideband is also a must. Otherwise you have no idea if the AFR's are safe or not.

Hesitation and a feeling of power loss with constant pressure on the throttle might be dizzy or knock related.

A timing light will definitely diagnose an ignition problem. The issue I have is most likely attributed to my dizzy, it's kind of ghetto right now and that is never good :P if you cut the bottom ear off the DE dizzy you should be able to time it to a conservative 15°. Track down a used JWT ecu on the forums or breakdown and get Nemu (a little less than $600 for everything?)

Okay im gonna try and check the timing soon. No gun here but my buddy has one. Ill probably just pick one up. Ill swap the DE injectors back on and 91 only from now on. Might get a nismotronic ecu from jk tuning.

Same condition on all of them

Should have stayed with 91. 87 on an untuned VE is asking for trouble especially here in AZ where the temps will be in the 100+ range for the next 6 months. You are OBDII, too bad since I have a JWT OBDI ECU 333inj VE(Pathfinder)MAF 8K rev limit sitting on the shelf that I could sell you. Just collecting dust. Have a Calum basic also, same setup. Do a compression check to see where you're at. DE ECU, DE inj for your issue right now if you plan on driving it. If you can snatch up a stepdown harness to use an OBDI ECU LMK & we can figure out an ECU for you. BTW those Bosch 4 platinums are junk. Don't use those. NGK spark plugs only, BKR6E heat range. That's what most NA VEs run on the forum.

Well, I don't see any obvious signs of detonation there. Just looks rich to me.

What are you doing with those shitty, gimmicky plugs though?
