The primeras ECU has all the controllers and parameters to control the VVL solenoids. Problem is, the Primera comes with an automatic CVT transmission. Thus you can not use that ECU.

With the exception of some of the newer P12 SR20VE( reffered to as 20v) or the SR20VET, all VE powered cars came with automatic transmissions.

Not true, you can run the Primera ECU with a manual tranny and get the cams to switch.... the vehicle speed signal (analog signal) from the gearbox has to be wired back to the speedometer, which then goes back to the ECU (digital signal).

Once the engine/oil is at operating temp and the vehicle is going over 60kmph, the cams will switch.

Learn something new everyday. I always read you couldn't.

But hey I didn't even get an ECU with my engine, and with having the capability to tune it I much rather just get a programable ECU anyways.

So there you go, if you get an ECU with your engine then you can use it.

And as for the sylinoids, if i buy that window thing you listed, how does it work? do i have to do something manually everytime i want the "vtec" to kick in?

Yes any calum will work.

And you just program it. It has instructions, you have to give a power wire, a tach signal, and a ground.
Program it to what ever rpm you want the cams to switch and every time you hit that rpm theyll activate.
