Calum ECU is a programmable ECU. Its basically a daughter board. It has chips that remove and you can change the tune on those. Reinstall and there you go. It can be programmed for many things(different injectors, different maf, etc.)

If you want to keep your cruise control, easiest way is to swap the throttle body for a lowport one. Or you can get creative with the cables and make a custom bracket to continue using the VE throttle body. You'll see, when you get your engine, how the little wheel is different.
As for the MSD RPM triggers. Most ECUs are NOT able to activate the VVL solenoids, so you need an external controller in order to do so.
A lot of people use the MSD 8986(or something like that) to activate the solenoids once you reach a certain RPM. This MSD is no longer made though. So you'll have to find something that can activate the solenoids.
