No reason it shouldnt be reliable. Keep detonation away and you wont have to worry about headgasket problems. Nothing wrong with the oem paper gaskets. They get weak over a long long time but brand new there should be no issues.

Ive used the oem paper gaskets on a lot of rwd SR 350-400whp turbo builds and never had issues and thats a lot more stress on them than a little high compression motor will put on it.

thanks for the good info! i tought metalic gasket is requirement for going high comp

The metal gaskets of course are tougher but its not a requirement.

Has anyone done 16ve pistons, stock gasket, with kelfords? Or does anyone know if this setup will have clearance issues?

There wont be any issues with clearance with kelfords and stock headgaskets and sr16ve pistons...

payu .. i test both headgasket on my VE-T and realy VE STD Feels better on my car rigth now i change the gastket before i blows a few months ago.. i have VET gasket on backorder for a monts !!! im still waiting.. but i will no use that gasket...
