They are stronger as well as lighter. CP ftw!

We are talking cast vs forged. The forged piston will be lighter and stronger.

Im aslo looking at 86mm CP's 9.1 for a ve-t build if they make them in this comp ratio . Also abyone know if they will come notched for the valve reliefs ?
Off topic how reliable are stock 9.1 vet pistons vrs forged vrs det ?

They are probably decent but honestly thinking in the long run, you would be saving cash instead of tearing down to go with CP's later.

Our boy Rick just did a VE-T setup. I believe he has the VE specific 9:1 pistons with valve reliefs.

the cp vet piston is 9:0.1 and its a copy of the factory pistons with larger valve reliefs. the factory vet piston appear to be forged as well but I find that hard to believe for the price.

large valve reliefs, and shorter skirt than stock ve piston. not to sure what vet pistons look like to compare but very nice quality

9.0.1 .. sorry dont know why i keep saying 9.1 . They do indeed look fairly large cuts . I have'nt priced stock ve-t pistons but if they are as cheap as stock det's i might consider . But of I'm dishing out money on froged rods then screw it go with cp's . Who here has buit a ve-t on a budget using stock ve-t pistons and how much bopst have they put to them is what i want to know .

The stock vet pistons will have to be ordered. I was going to build my ve-t on a budget with gtir internals but I had two pistons damaged in shipping. Also the fact they limit you on what cams can be run kinda sucks. People have made over 500whp with det internals in a sr20ve.

Pretty much it. I would love a ve-t setup with a large frame turbo. Only part that sucks is not getting full potential due to possible piston-valve contact.
