Run the biggest gap without spark blowout. I've ran .039-.044 with no problems, your ignition might be different though.

Well there is your problem. Stock DE injectors are 259cc, VE are 333cc. Bigger injectors squirt more fuel per puslewidth, thus you need to decrease the duration of the puslewidths. This means if you run bigger injectors on stock ECU, you will be way too rich hence have issues starting like you are.

Well there is your problem. Stock DE injectors are 259cc, VE are 333cc. Bigger injectors squirt more fuel per puslewidth, thus you need to decrease the duration of the puslewidths. no u misunderstand, i hav the sr20 ve engine.

not the DE

which means the injectors r 333

Unless it's a 16ve ecu which is manual.
