the point @ which you rev/shift depends on your mods and powerband

i have BC valve springs, stock retainers and n1 cams. 9k every time i drive her. bounce limiter in 1st and 2nd.

when racing i shift @ 9k 1st to 2nd and 8300 thereafter. all depends on wher you making the power

stock motor with n1 and without springs - i would say 8500

i am considering lower my rev limit to about 8800 or so. my car peak @ about 7400 and start falling off about 8500

peace

If it's holding until 8500, why do you shift at 8300?

Good information, thank you guys! I guess i'll have to Dyno my car to see where the power is really at.. I've been shifting at 8k, only because i had a friend tell me 8k was safest the 20ve could see.. I might start shifting around 7500 and drop my VVL activation to about 4700 or so.

revved to 9.5k with my short runner manifold q45tb (n1 cams+bcsprings)... revved to a gabillion once while burning out with no limiter, did it again on the dyno... killed a vvl that day (thank God for tunercode)

btw, i think 5000-5500 is best range of rpm to set vvl switch over with n1 cams

setting lower may hurt your torque

Yes, but i don't have n1 cams.. i have stock sr20ve cams.. and if i'm shifting at 7700 and have the vvl at 55, i will fall out of VVL..

rev to 7800-8000rpm and set vvl points @ 4600-4700rpm and you should be ok
