What RPM do you shift at?? NEO VVL SR16/20
Hey Guys, what RPM are you shifting at?? I Called jwt yesterday on sending in my ecu to get retuned for my all motor VE and he told me redline was around 7200k or so, don't recall fully.. I've been reving mine to 8k, no problems yet. He said the N1 motor/cams would let you rev to about 7900 without further headwork needed..??

Just curious to see where everyones shifting at, and possibly what RPM everyone has they're VVL engagement point at?? Mine is set at 5k, but knowing this info, i might set it lower to about 4300.

The question is referring to people with a mostly STOCK engine, with the exceptions of N1 cams or so.

when my sr20ve was stock with n1 cams I ran a 8k rev limit. I never had a issue and every thing was intact when I pulled the motor apart.

^This. I had N1 cams as well. I would no-lift-shift off the 9K rev limiter. She loved every minute of it. Oh, stock springs & retainers.

primera is 7200

sr16ve non n1 is 8300

sr16ve n1 is a bit higher, think about 8700

the point @ which you rev/shift depends on your mods and powerband

i have BC valve springs, stock retainers and n1 cams. 9k every time i drive her. bounce limiter in 1st and 2nd.

when racing i shift @ 9k 1st to 2nd and 8300 thereafter. all depends on wher you making the power

stock motor with n1 and without springs - i would say 8500

i am considering lower my rev limit to about 8800 or so. my car peak @ about 7400 and start falling off about 8500

peace
