That's definitely a low RPM for an SR16 gearbox on 15's. The SR16 trans'd B15 with 16" tires I rode in was pushing 3700+ at highway speeds, but I can't remember the exact numbers and speed . I wonder if there are 2 different versions of the SR16 tranny?

Strat is right though, despite what I said about the B15 revving high on the highway it really isn't bad on gas on the highway. On trips across country with the DE in there I would have no problem getting 650km/400 miles+ to a tank. Low gearing and torque on my RR'd B15 was always what put me out in front of the other N/A imports when driving in a spirited fashion!
I can't speak for an SR16 gearbox as far as fuel economy goes but it is apparently pretty good on the 16VE engine despite the revs.

I think the best bet IMHO might be the B15. It is quick 1-3 and decent in fifth for the highway. <-- But I might be a wee bit biased. The SR16 is shorter 2nd-5th with the same FD. Although, happynole's custom tranny sounds interesting!!

What size tires you running? With my above calculations of 3625 rpm at 80mph I was running on 195/65/15 beefy winter tires.

I need to check again. I was doing 80 at 3800 when I had 195/60/16 I think it was. Now I have 215/45/17 I think I am doing the same.

A p11 ve will be quickest with a 6 speed tranny, but unless you add boost it probably will get boring fast and wont be quick enough for a fun daily driver. This is my opinion though, I'm sure others might disagree.

I'm quite interested in this option, do you have the part numbers of the items you ordered?

My fatty P11 did 28mpg going mainly going 75mph on the highway, then Keo getting on it to see how slow it is.

I would say that's pretty crappy mpg's, while I was VE-T I would get 32mpg at 75mph and close to 35mpg going 70mph and under.

yeah, i cant say i drive slow all the time either. i use to get 29mpg with ve on b13 trans. perhaps i would get 30-31mpg with a p11 trans, but im winning allot of races so 27mpg doesnt hurt me at all . it doesnt matter if your boosted or not if you have a really long geared transmission your going to get really high mpg, traction too. like i keep saying p11 transmission is really good for turbo

Its more like 3k rpm at 80mph in 6th gear on the 6 speed trans. When I had my 5 speed on 205/50/15's 80mph was right at about 3900 rpm in 5th, with the 6 speed its right at 2900-3000 on the same tire size. Still makes a huge difference. In 5th gear on the 6 speed at 80mph was almost identical to the 5 speed trans, right at 3900-4000 rpm

With the 5 speed on the calum ecu with my 60 trim turbo setup I got right at 40mpg going to phoenix in my b13. I really wish I would have had more time to tune out the lowend part throttle on the AEM and take it on a trip to see what kind of mpg i could have pulled. Im thinking 50mpg could have been very very possible with 1000 rpm less. I usually tune my cruising a/f out to around 15.0-15.5:1 and it nets me pretty good mileage without any pinging/detonation.
