SR20VE with a 01 P11 trans?
I have been searching alot trying to see what trans to use for a future VE swap...I really dont want to make a frankenstien tranny, but may have to to get what I want....which is a 1-4 accelleration and a tall 5th for highway.

Anybody running a N1 cammed 2.0L VE with a 01 P11 trans?
I am just wondering if that is better than a B15b trans for a daily for better gas mileage.
How much compromise in acceleration is there actually compared to a B15 trans?
any input would be appreciated fellas

P11 tranny on a ve would be dog slow.

B15 man, at like 80 youll be at 3300 rpm.

Stratton.

Its not really much worse than running a b13/b14 trans other than a slightly longer 3rd 4th and 5th gear.

from what i've read b15 is the best all around choice for a drop in tranny. then it's a reg b13-14 tranny with the 4.4 final. after that. with the 4.7-5.0 finals your talking about mainly drap setups where the rpms are going to be high on the highway. i don't think the p11 is a contender for n/a ve only perk would be a better lsd i think.

^80 at 3300? I need a B15 trans then. I thought the gears were almost the same as the SR16VE trans? I believe Happynole had a SR16VE trans and he was around 4200 at 80 on the interestate.

I'm running an NA VE on a P11 with a P11 trans. Last weekend I swapped in N1 cams too.

On a 2980lb Bessy, with 20ve cams activating at 4700 rpm, very aggressive timing, 2.5" SSAC, 3" exhaust, ThermoBlok Spacers, Gspec WP pulley (stock crank pulley), BPi Flow stack and short ram intake. I was able to do 0-60 in 7.7 seconds.

After N1's, and a different timing map, the car seems to pull a little stronger in VVL, I think I saw the biggest pull difference was in 3rd gear.

Now as for P11 trans, it has the same gearing in 1st and 2nd gear as the B15. So when you daily drive it should be about the same. Just upper gears will be slightly longer.

There is no way, on a P11 trans I'm at 3300 at 75mph...

not when the final drive is different. at the end of the day, that's the main difference in the trans.

This will help you guys (i found this somewhere)

I have both transmission so i can give you my opinion, the B15
transmission you can only get like 85 km/h in 2nd(i don't like this) but it's the sr20de b15 which only rev to 6800rpm the first and second gears feels too small, the reverse feels better though and shifting feels a bit better than a cable trans like the nx2000, but i still prefer my cable transmission i think, i can ajust it too if i want it lower or higher(clutch).

the NX2000 transmission with the sr20ve, i can go to like 102 km/h at 7700rpm

I didn't really check on the highway

You can swap in a 4.4 into a p11 transmission and it would actually have a more aggressive fifth gear than the b15. They pretty much have the same gear ratios except for fifth and the final drive. As 200 sx has shown above.
